Bio
HNY (pronounced “henny”) is a New England–born, Seattle-based solo artist whose name — short for “How And Why” — reflects her curiosity and purpose as a storyteller blending soul, R&B, rap, spoken word, and classical roots. A lifelong musician who began violin at age four and began releasing music under the name HNY in 2021, she has performed on iconic stages including SOB’s in NYC, Los Globos in LA, and Barboza in Seattle, with her single “Little Things” gaining wide recognition. She is preparing to release her debut EP Exodus, a cinematic conceptual precursor to her forthcoming visual rap album Hero in My Own Mind, aimed at inspiring audiences to embrace their multilayered truth and power.
